3/22/11 Woods Fire

This afternoon at around 1430 hours BPVFD was alerted of a woods fire threatening structures. Crews arrived to find a large and rapidly growing fire, Chief 24 called for SVFD, NBVFD, and eventually CRFD. The fire ended up burning approxmantly 75-85 acres, no homes were lost. The last unit left the scene at 1734 hours, no injuries were reported.


3/12/11 Structure fire

At 2032 hours we were dispatched to a house fire threatening another structure. Engine 1 was first due and reported the fire working, Ladder 1 arrived and set up for exposure proctection. The second house was saved, the first was ruled a total loss. Units that responded were Engines 1 and 5, Brush 1, and Ladder. No injuries were reported.

11/25/10 Structure fire

At 0937 hours Thanksgiving morning a few members of the department were checking the trucks when a call came in for a possible structure fire. Engine 1 was already out and rolled to the scene, Engine 4 arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. It ended up being a turkey fryer that had over turned and spilt onto some brush and side of the house, no inujuries were reported.

11/3/10 Mutual aid MVA

Today at 1934 hours after a long rain soaked day BPVFD was alerted by Springbrick VFD to respond for extrication at CR 390 and SR 77. Engine 5 rolled with a crew of 4, E5 arrived and extricated 3 victims from two different vehicles. Engine 5 cleared at 2013 hours, one patient suffered from a broken ankle, one had a broken arm, and the other was airlifted in critical condition to a trauma center.

10/6/10 Brush fire

Today around 1500 hours we were alerted of a brush fire endangering a structure. Since Engine 2 was out on special detail Engine 1 rolled and quickly got a knock on the fire. Brush 1 also responded, no injuries reported, no extension to the structure units returned to the station within 30 minutes of the initial tones.

9/22/10 Vehicle fire

This morning at 0800 hours we were alerted for a vehicle fire, Ladder 1 was on its way back from the city yard and responded. Ladder 1 arrived on scene along with the Chief and went to work, the fire was quickly knocked and is believed to be started by a leaking gas tank and a grinder spark. No injuries were reported, units on scene were Chief 1, and Ladder 1.

9/20/10 Mutual aid Woods fire

 Early this morning around 0500 hours BPVFD was called to assist Springbrick Fire/Rescue with a woods fire. SF/R requested a brush with additional apparatus Brush 1 and Engine 3 responded.  Enigne 3 cleared at 0617, and Brush 1 cleared at 0645 after mop up was completed. No injuries were reported and no home were destroyed in the 14 acres it burned in the swampy area.

9/18/10 MVA Car vs Pole

Earlier this evening just after dark, around 1953 hours we were alerted of a MVA with injuires. Volunteers responded, Engine 5 rolled out, appon arrival E5 advised of Bruceville Fire/Rescue already on scene. E5 canceled all BPVFD units and stayed to assist Bruceville with extrication and packaging a patient. Units responded were Engine 5 And RE17(Bruceville F/R). One patient was transported with serious injuries, Engine 5 cleared after 30 minutes on scene.

9/7/10 Structure fire

On the evening of September 7th crews were alerted of a possible structure fire. Engine 6 arrived and notified of a single story woodframe structure flames showing from two sides. Engine 6 went on attack, ladder 5 arrived and set up for exposure protection. The building is a total loss, along with two three-wheelers, and a truck. The fire is still under investigation, no injuries were reported. Units responded were as follwed: Engine 1, Ladder 1, Engine 5, Engine 2, Engine 3, and Brush 1.

9/3/19 Garbage can fire

Earlier today, at 0953 hours we were alertedof a small garbage can fire near a structure. The address was called as 2112 Barchetta street, which was right around the corner from the station. As a volunteer was checking the trucks he responded with Engine 2, he arrived with along with another FF in a POV. The fire was quikcly knocked down. The cause was determmined to be from hot grease that was poured into the can. No injuries were reported units stayed on scene for approximently 32 minutes.

7/25/10 MVA with injuries

Today at 1756 hours a call came in for an MVA with injuries and possible rollover. After the intial dispatch was toned units were advised that a car has ran into a nearby house at the incident. Engine 5 was first on scene and advised of a two car MVA with rollover and 1 car into a structure. The home was searched and noone was found. During the accident a bicyclist was hit by the car that ran into the structure. Both victims in the vehicles were transported to teh hospital with minor injuries. The bicyclist was flown to Sacred Brick Hospital where he is in critical condition. Units on scene were Engines 5 and 2.  

5/30/10 vehicle fire with extension

This evening at 1821 hours Station 1 was alerted of a vehicle fire endangering a structure. Engines 2 and 5 responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. Cause of the fire was determined to be a puddle of gas that leaked from one of the vehicles and an electrical spark ignited the fire. Units cleared at 1946 hours, no injuries were reported.

5/30/10 MVA

This morning at around 1200 hours Station 1 was toned for a MVA with rollover and spillage at Lafayette. Engine 5 rolled on it's first call arrived on scene and advised of a two car MVA blocking all lanes of travel in the intersection. The intersection was reopened at 1343 hours, units that responded were old Rescue 1, and Engine 5. One civilian recieved a couple of scratches and bruises from the accident.

5/29/10 MVA with fire

Today at 1832 hours Station 1 was alerted for a MVA with possible injuries and fire. Engines 2, and 5 responded to the scene. Upon arrival of Engine 5 there were flames showing, while Engine 5 handled fire attack Engine 2 handled patient care until EMS arrived on scene. One victim sufferred a broken arm and was tranported to a local hospital, no other injuries were reported units cleared at 1934 hours.
